My Story
I’m Eva Lychrou and I have always been passionate working privately with clients! After having moved back to the Uk in 2010, I initially established my practice in Harley Street.
However I realised that it was not for me, so I left my office there and found a hidden gem in the other side of Marylebone. Wanting to create a beautiful and relaxing space I made sure scented candles and beautiful paintings were used. As far as offices go, it was just about perfect – and both myself (on the right) and the clients loved it!
And yet, something was missing…
Then one day, as I was working with a client who was feeling stuck and wasn’t sure what to do next, I thought why don’t we go outside for a walk? Together, we took a walk towards this garden and everything changed.
Therapy took on a completely different shape during that walk. The beautiful scenery, the fresh air, the movement: it all worked to motivate and inspire both myself and the client. As the session ended, I could tell that this was exactly what was missing from my practice. My office was beautiful, but nature – with its endless opportunities for teachable moments and grounding effect on the senses – was a powerful upgrade.
I did the same walk and talk sessions with other clients and the results were unbelievable. People were literally walking their way through problems, improving their mental health and getting more out of every session.

FAQs
Why walk and talk therapy?
Instead of the traditional office session, we meet outside and walk. Besides there is a lot of scientific based research on the benefits that nature has on our minds and body. Known as nature-based therapy or eco-psychotherapy, it is scientifically proven that spending time outdoors is a natural way to help with mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.
How do you ensure privacy and confidentiality?
I offer my walk and talk therapy in a private garden, offering the utmost client confidentiality, knowing you will not bump into anyone you know during our session.
What about the weather?
Luckily there are some kiosks to sit underneath if it starts raining in the middle of the session. Otherwise we can always meet up in the office, which is a 10 minute walk from the garden in case it is a rainy day and you don’t feel like walking. Whatever it is preferred by you at that time.
What if I’m not used to walking?
As with any therapy session, you set the pace and direction of where the conversation goes. And, with walk and talk therapy, you also set the pace that you walk at. We can sit, we can walk, you don’t need to be fit to participate; there is nothing physically strenuous about it.
Who is not suited for walk and talk therapy?
Walk and talk therapy is not suited to people who simply feel more comfortable in an indoor space; tend to run when confronted with challenging emotions; and those who find the outdoors overwhelming due to trauma-related events. Join the Walking Therapists’ Club to learn more.
What is your training?
I’m fully accredited as a psychotherapist by UKCP since 2011 as I have a BA in Psychology from Deree College and a Postgraduate Certificate and Master of Science from King’s College London in Family Therapy. I have also done some additional training specifically on walk and talk therapy.
What can clients expect during the session?
We will typically meet at the same time and place each week where you will be offered a cup of drink of your choice each time so that you get a chance to relax and enjoy yourself! Having sessions in a garden, I like to remind clients of needing the correct footwear, coat, etc.
The fees are £150 per session.
